TLV62569: Question about TLV62569DR

Part Number: TLV62569

Dear TI,

Here we have a application considering TLV62569DR,Vin=3.3V, Vout=0.8V,Iout_max=300mA, the Vout ripple should be less than 30mV. Will TLV62569DR be okay for this application?

And as for Cout, we have some confusions, what are the effect capacitance required in this application, considering DC bias de-rating? Can customer use 2*10F capacitor?

  • Hi Jiayu,

    Achieving a 30mV max ripple voltage might be difficult for TLV62569DR because it operates at PFM mode to reach a high efficiency at light load conditions. What is the minimum load current? Because the worst-case condition typically occurs at the lowest load current. A possible alternative is the FPWM version (TLV62569A) which offers a low ripple from no load to full condition.

    For 0.8V (TLV62569DR / TLV62569A) output, the minimum nominal capacitance is 2 x 22uF (with effective capacitance of +20%, -50%).

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hi Excel,

    Thanks a lot for your reply.

    The minimum load current is about 10~20mA, is it ok if we use more 10uF capacitor with the same effect capacitance?

    And I want to double check with you the total effect capacitance considering DC bias derating is about 22uF~52.8uF?

    22uF=22uF*2(1-50%)

    52.8uF=22uF*2*(1+20%)

  • Hi Jiayu,

    You are correct. The minimum and maximum effective capacitance at 0.8V output are 22uF and 52.8uF, respectively.

    As I highlighted in my previous post, you might not be able to achieve a ripple voltage <30mV with TLV62569DR. Hence, you should consider TLV62569A instead if this parameter is critical in the application.

    Best regards,

    Excel

  • Hi Jiayu,

    If you don't have further queries, I will close this thread.

    Thank you.
