TPS65084: Intel Braytail

Part Number: TPS65084
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS59641, TPS51716, TPS650861, TPS650860EVM-116, TPS65086, TPS650864, BOOSTXL-TPS650861

Hi Sir

May I know TI have PMIC for Baytrail-M or Baytrial-D?

As I know TI have Braytrial-T CR SND9039 PMIC solution

Thanks

  • Hello,

We do not have a PMIC for Baytrail-M or Baytrail-D. I have looped in our core controller team as they have supported Baytrail with TPS59641 in the past though if you are interested in a discrete approach.

  • Hi Kevin

If Vcore use TPS59641 others power rail use PMIC ,do you have any solution could be used ? Need to support DDR VDDQ and VTT

  • Hi Kaileh,

For DDR (VDDQ+VTT), we do have TPS51716, which can supply both VDDQ and VTT. It's a discrete solution though.

    Regards,

    Weidong

  • Hi Kaileh,

We do not have a pre-defined solution for BayTrail other than CR. Looking at Bayley Bay design as an example, with a 2S-4S battery or 12V input, TPS650861 might be the closest fit from the PMIC team and it is user programmable to support various power up / down sequences.

It could support high current 5V / 3.3V / VDDQ + VTT + 3 additional voltages (V1P8, V1P0A, V1P05S seem like decent candidates) + 3 load switches, depending on what power states you are trying to support.

Details of the internal structure for programming as available in the Programming Guide: www.ti.com/.../swcu188

  • Hi Kevin

    May I know TPS650861 have EVM ? I saw TI have TPS650860 EVM ,but I can't make sure what's different between 860 and 861

Besides TPS650861 only have TPS65086100 part number ,seems like this is for NXP PMIC

  • Hello,

TPS650860A0RSKx, the only orderable under TPS65086 product folder, is a pre-programmed version of TPS650861 that is intended for demonstration purposes. It has a power-up sequence and a power-down sequence example. This is what is populated on the TPS650860EVM-116. The default settings for this spin are located here: www.ti.com/.../swcu186

TPS65086100RSKx, the only orderable under TPS650861 product folder, is a blank version of TPS65086 which can be programmed using the OTP Generator Excel file + I2C. It does not do anything by default. In the TPS650861 product folder, there are example programming files in the Design & development section under Design tools & simulation tab - this includes all of the TPS650864 OTPs (another family of pre-programmed TPS650861 devices targeting Xilinx) as well as the LS1043 example.

The TPS650861 does not have a solder down EVM, it has the BOOSTXL-TPS650861 board which is a socketed board for prototyping. From there, the units programmed in the BoosterPack can be soldered to a TPS650860EVM-116 after making the necessary modifications for proper operation.
