Is TPS65381A-Q1 exactly the same as TPS65381-Q1? If so, why we change TPS65381-Q1 to TPS65381A-Q1?

    Hi,

    In terms of functionality and pin out, both the devices are same, but there are some improvements done on TPS65381A-Q1 device to improve certain parameters and hence we strongly recommend customers to use TPS65381A-Q1 device.

    I have forwarded your request to the Applications Engineer supporting this device and he will provide you an update if my above assumption is not correct.

    Hi Wendy,

    Assuming the customer has been using TPS65381QDCARQ1 the silicon is the same as TPS65381AQDCARQ1 with the only difference being the topside marking. There was a silicon revision made between TPS65381QDCARQ1 and TPS65381AQDCARQ1 however the same change was also done to the TPS65381QDCARQ1 device through a PCN around the same time as the release of the TPS65381AQDCARQ1 device. Given this, these parts can be used interchangeably as they are the same silicon.
