Hi,

I am trying to analyze the stability of TPSM84A22 power module.

[1] Is there any average model available? This can help in drawing bode plots and closed loop output impedance curve.

[2] Is there a way to do bode plot simulation? I am not seeing that option in webench for this device.

    Hi Binayak,

    As this module uses a regulator with constant on-time control, there is not an average model or a way to simulate bode plots. The only tool I know of that we have provided to simulate the Bode plot for some of our newer constant on-time control devices is a SIMPLIS model but we also do not have a SIMPLIS model for this device.

    As an alternative for checking stability through simulation I recommend simulating a load step with the transient model. However this will not give you the desired closed loop output impedance curve.

    EDIT: In addition to a load step transient simulation, I wanted to add that in general there should be no stability issues as long as the output capacitance guidelines in the datasheet are followed.
