Hello Team,

My customer is using the BQ76940EVM boards. They are going to be simulating charge, by applying a PSU across the PACK- terminals, and They need to know if the boards have a scaling factor when determining the current - i.e. if They insert a 1A charge current, does the board scale this and see the current as 10A, or does it see their real time input, 1A ?

Hi Renan,

By default, the current will not be scaled. If they use the BQ78350-R1 gauge/controller on the board with BQStudio, scaling is possible if they need this feature (see link below for more information on this feature).

Can you also check if the on the BQ34110EVM... Will the BQ34110 scale the current?

Hi Renan,

I believe current scaling is possible for the BQ34110 and that it is similar to the method in the app note for the BQ34Z100-G1: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua760/slua760.pdf

However, I am not an expert on this device, so I suggest creating a new thread for the BQ34110 if you need more guidance on this.
