1, the actual application circuit on the product is as follows, input voltage 8.7V, output voltage 5.15V, rated load current 1A.

2. Use the oscilloscope to measure the voltage waveform of the OUTPUT and OUTPUT of the chip pin 2 (the built-in power switch) under different loads as follows:

When under light load, the chip works in discontinuous current mode, and the parasitic parameters of the circuit cause oscillation at the OUTPUT pin of the chip. The highest voltage is 9.36V. Will the chip be damaged if the reverse voltage is applied to the built-in switch of the chip?

No definite conclusion and absolute voltage value is found in the device manual.

    The energy exists in inductor and parasitic capacitors which is normally very little. If you have concern you can add a RC snubber in the switching node. Then the peak value of ringing should be much smaller.
