TPS7H4001-SP: Clarification on RL

Part Number: TPS7H4001-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS50601A-SP,

Hello team,

My customer is working on a design with TPS74H4001-SP and currently designing the compensation network.

Could you provide clarification on what RL is as mentioned in equation 20 on page 35 of the data sheet for the TPS74001-SP? https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps7h4001-sp.pdf?ts=1612888815923 . Is it the DC resistance of the chosen output inductor?

When working through designing the compensation network for the TPS50601A-SP, they took the following steps:

  1. calculated fp using equation 17 on page 26
  2. Then using that calculated fp, I solved for RL using the following equation on page 22 of the TPS50601A-SP datasheet:
  3. Then proceeded with those number to calculate the rest of the compensation network using equations 10, 11, and 12 in the TPS50601A-SP datasheet.

But on the TPS74H4001-SP, it looks like it does not contain the equation mentioned in Step 1 above, the customer is not sure how to proceed as it seems both fp and RL are undefined in the datasheet for the TPS7H4001-SP.

Thank you in advance for your support!
