Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS546C23, TPSM846C23
Hi team,
I want to suggest TPS546D24A replace LTM4700. Do you have any comments?
Or any suitable solution better than TPS546D24A.
Contition : 12V to 0.8V@100A for FPGA.
thanks!

Most likely a stack of 3 TPS546D24A devices would be able to replace an LTM4700 module in a 12V to 0.8V @ 100A FPGA application.
There are some features of the LTM4700 that the TPS546D24A does not support, so we should make sure that the customer is ok with that:
1) Page - Since the TPS546D24A supports only 1 output per PMBus address, it does not support the PAGE command
2) Under Temperature Fault - The TPS546D24A does not support a cold temperature fault protection
3) Input Over-current protection - the TPS546D24A only supports output over-current protection, not Input Current
4) Read Input Current - The TPS546D24A does not support input telemetry
5) External Temperature Sensor - The TPS546D24A only supports internal (die) temperature sensing, not external temperature sensing.
6) Read Frequency - While the TPS546D24A does provide programming switching frequency via PMBus, it does not report frequency telemetry like the LTM4700
7) Power In / Power Out - While the TPS546D24A provides voltage and current telemetry, it does not provide Power measurements for either input or output. Output power measurements would need to be calculated externally based on reported voltage and temperature telemetry.
There are a number of Analog/LT Manufacturer specific command values that the LTM4700 supports that the TPS546D24A does not support, so it would be good to understand what, if any, of those the customer is using so we can talk with them about what those features are and if they are able to sacrifice them to move to the TPS546D24A based solution.
Hi team.
per checked with the customer, they need some information reporting (Like input V,I temp etc...)
So, Does TI have any suitable solution like LTM4700?
The TPS546D24A supports READ_VIN, READ_VOUT, READ_IOUT, and READ_TEMPERATURE1
The TPS546D24A can also be stacked upto 4x to support even higher output currents, upto 160A
The TPS546C23 is another voltage mode control converter that also provides readback for VOUT, IOUT, and internal die temperatures.
The TPSM846C23 is a single-phase stackable module that can use 2 modules to build a two phase output, with each module providing read-back of Ouptut Voltage, Output Current, and IC die temperature.
If the customer is willing to design a "down solution" rather than a module, I would recommend leading with the TPS546D24A as the most capable replacement for the LTM4700.
