TPL7407LA: Specifications

Part Number: TPL7407LA

Hi team,

My customer is considering to use the TPL7407LAD. Could you please support the following questions from the customer?

1. Is there a specification for the power consumption of each CH?

2. Is there a specification for Rds (ON)?

3. I would like to understand the meaning of Duty Cycle. How should I check when 3Ch is operating at the same time?

4. Is there a specification for ASO (Area Of Safe) of each CH?

Regards,

Yamaguchi

  • Yamagchi-san,

    1. We specify the maximum current per channel for this device. At most, we recommend keeping the current per channel less than 600mA.

    2. For this device, we do not specify the on resistance. Since this is a low side array, we specify the low level output voltage in the datasheet which is typically 430mV at 200mA. Roughly, this translates to an R_on of 2.15Ohms.

    3. This term here refers to the amount of time of any PWM that the device is ON. The figures 5 and 6 refer to the maximum amount of collector current that can go through each channel per time period. At 25C for D package, if you are having 3 channels conducting in DC then the maximum amount of current that can be handled per channel is around 0.36A. This is to make sure that the total power dissipation through the device does not cause it to heat up over its maximum allowed junction temperature.

    4. Due to the age of this device, we do not have an SOA curve to share.

  • Hi Shreyas-san,

Thank you for the answer. I explained it to the customer.
