Part Number: BQ25790
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25618, BQ25606, BQ25619

Battery charging spec referring to the customer:
Charging time: within 0.5hr to 99%

Battery capacity: 450mAh
How many cell you design? [Ans] On cell

The BQ25790 seems to meet this spec, or can you suggest a suitable one?
Regarding the BQ25790, without the I2C host controlled, can it support fast charging?

  • Hi Tom,

The BQ25790 can charge 1S battery using default settings (4.2V and 2A charge current) without I2C.  However, since it is capable of charging up to 5A it is overpowered for a 450mAh battery and the default 2A charge current is probably too high for the cell.  I recommend changing to BQ25618 or BQ25619, for I2C control or BQ25606 for standalone.

    Regards,

    Jeff
