TPS62097: Enable line threshold

Part Number: TPS62097
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62093

Hi TI support,

Regarding the VIH_EN threshold for TPS62093, may I know what is the difference between 1.6V and 2.0V?

What is the risk if I connect my VIH_EN to

1) 1.6V?

2) 1.7V?

  • Hi,

The 2.0V gives you the lowest voltage you should pull the EN pin to in order to have the device turn on reliably.
The 1.6V is the typical value, for the following conditions   (this is shown on top of the electrical char. table) and this doesn't cover all worst cases. That is why the worst case is specified.

    1) if you connect EN=1.6V or 1.7V then the device might sometimes turn on and other times not. Because it will be in an undefined zone
    2) if you connect EN>=2V then the device will turn on

    Regards,
    Davor
