Hello expert

We are planning to use the your product UCD90120A, however, i have two question about the product.

1. UCD90120A has 22 GPIOs, but only there are max 12 used as RAIL EN and max 12 used as GPO descriped in the datasheet. Would you please help to tell me the reason?  by the way, Could i choose the GPIO used as RAIL EN/GPO at random or i must choose special GPIOs to use RAIL EN/GPO? Could i choose 11 GPIOs used as RAIL EN and another 11 GPIOs used as GPO?

2. UCD90120A has 13 MON pins. Why does datasheet descripe only support 12 channel power monitor?

    Please see my comments below.

    1. UCD90120A is a 12 channel sequencer. So it comes with up to 12 Rail EN associated with each rail. The max number of logic GPO is also decided by the total rail number.  All IOs are programmable. there are no limitations. You can configured any IO as EN or GPO.  

    2. UCD90120A is a 12 channel sequencer. it means that it can support up to 12 rails. but the device comes with total 13 MON input. the remaining one can be configured either as current or temperature monitoring for one of the 12 rails. This is limited by the space inside the chip.

    Thanks for your feedback! That's helpful for me, but i still have some questions about item 1

    1. If i don't associate with the power rail, can i use more than 12 IOs as Rail EN? For example, 12 Rail EN associated with 12 MON channels, other Rail EN associated with input(e.g power good from VRs) . 

    2. If i don't associate with the power rail, can i use more than 12 IOs as GPO? For example, all 22 GPIOs used as GPOs that output high in turn every few ms.

    Hi 

    The max number of IO for each functions are fixed. you can configure up to 12rails. each rails must have at least one physical pin configured, which could be either MONx or ENABLE. So you can all 12 rails without MON but all have ENABEL. in additional to rails, you can also configure up to 12 Logic GPO. The input of the logic can be the POWER GOOD signal from those power which do not have MON configured.

    That means when i configure 12 Rail EN, i also can cunfigure 10 logic GPO with the rest 10GPIOs, right?

    so, i can do anything using the 10 GPOs and the 10 GPOs needn't associated with the MON input, right? or there are some limitation with these 10 GPO?
