LM2576HV: LM2576HV - damage of the diode

Part Number: LM2576HV

I would like technical support to understand the damage of the diode in the buck regulator circuit. The circuit is converting VIN: 50V to VOUT: 5V with a current of 100mA.

The diode used is PN: SB5100 of 100V / 5A. I am using this conversion in circuit close to RF (TV Transmitter).

Sorry about the troubles.

I looked at the datasheet for the diode and it looks satisfactory.

Have you confirmed that replacement of the diode results in functioning regulator? No replacement of IC is needed?

It only damages the Diode, which is very impressive. Right now I'm trying to damage a part and I can't.

OK. That would be surprising to me as well for my experience with asych regulators. We may want to identify some alternative part numbers for diode and do some experiments with those as well to help identify root cause. I believe datasheet has some good recommendations.
