LM5121: Using with Hold Up Capacitor

Part Number: LM5121

Hi Team,

Can you please check and advise with following request:

"

We want to use the LM5121 Step up boost converter category in a design.

With this IC, we want to increase the input voltage and feed our hold up capacitor structure, which is around 3.5 (three and a half) milliseconds.

We need a structure that can be in the input voltage range of 15-35 Volts, which will ensure a voltage level of 50 V at the output.

When we design IC with external components, the pcb is also extremely important for us to ensure that there small footprint, as much efficiency as possible, and no collapse of the load transient.

I expect your assessment of the design, taking into account the previous application of this IC and the situation I briefly stated.

"

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

  • Hi Furkan,

What help do they need specifically? Do they have a schematic/layout for review?

    Thanks,

    Yinsong

  • Hello Yinsong,

Dear Mr. Furkan has already contacted me about your question. It was me who tried to use LM5121-Q1 Automotive IC Boost regulator to charge my hold up capacitor bank. Please contact me via e-mail to discuss for further discussion. Although here is the open forum, I can not explain all the details about the application. I look forward to hear more from you. Thanks for all the support.

    Best regards,
