LM3406: Upgraded device

Hello team,

Could you please suggest me upgraded alternative for LM3406MHX/NOPB?

Input voltage: >=32V

Output current: >=2A

PWM dimming is needed and PW signal level is 3.3V.

I think TPS92512 is suitable, could you please check?

    Hello Kazuki,

    The parts we support in this group are the TPS92515A or the LM3409 which could work.  The TPS92515A will be limited by thermal dissipation so it depends on the switching frequency and output voltage when Vin is 32V.  The LM3409 can easily handle this current since the MOSFET is external.  The TPS92512 is another one to look at that you mentioned.  The deciding factors will be switching frequency, PWM frequency and dutycycle range, input voltage range, output voltage and heat dissipation capability.  I will change this to the LED group since they support the TPS92512 and other parts.  If either the TPS92515A or the LM3409 are interesting you can move this back to our group.
