Hi 

We are used TPS54318 part in our project but we have some little bit confusion in Output cap and inductor SFR (self resonant frequency) actually we want to know how many times self resonant frequency of capacitor and inductor  require of switching frequency.

If you have any application document for this please suggest us which one also helpful.

one things we know SFR need to more than Switching frequency.

For input and output cap and inductor consider this question and give us suggestion accordingly.

    Hi User,

    I wasn´t able to find a fixed number to correlate minimum self resonant frequency to switching frequency.

    During operation, in order to maximize performances, it would be good to assure that the capacitor has still a capacitive behavior, thus that the SRF is bigger than the switching frequency. However, there is no clear limit, and the ratio between the two frequencies depends on the specific requirements.

    In order to have a reference, I would advise you to take a look at the BOM of the device EVM (TPS54318EVM-512 3-A, SWIFT Regulator Evaluation Module, page 16).

    In particular, if you choose for your design same size capacitors and an inductor similar to the one proposed (L value, DCR, Isat, ..), you should have performances similar to the ones reported in the datasheet.
