TPS650250: Power dissipation for PMIC

Part Number: TPS650250

Hi,

I am using TPS650250 in my design.

1. Can you please let me know how to calculate the power dissipation for PMIC.

2. What is the efficiency for DCDC1 for VI=5V and Vout=1V

3. What is the efficiency of DCDC3 for VI=5V and Vout=1V

  • Hi Shifali,

The efficiencies for DCDC1,2, and 3 can all be found in Section 6.10 of the datasheet, approximated based on the Vin and Vout conditions we have available there that have been tested. Thermal dissipation information can be found on pages 5 and 6 of the datasheet as well. To calculate the power dissipation, use the efficiency curves for the DCDCs in Section 6.10. Back calculate the Ploss by using the Ploss = Pin - Pout where: Pout = Vout x Iout and Pin = Vin x Iin.
Iin = (Vout x Iout) / (Vin x n) where: n is the expected efficiency at that Vin, Vout, & Iout conditions.

    Best,

    Emily
