UCD3138: Shorting of the pins in UCD3138

Part Number: UCD3138

Hi,

I am using UDC3138 for the PFC application and for that I built a 6 layer PCB (motherboard), but in the 3rd layer, DPWM0A is shorted with 12V plain. Though I am not using DPWM0 for any pulse generation.

Please tell me how will it affect the board and how this 12V on DPWM0A pin affects the UCD3138 controller.

Can I disable the DPWM0 module?

Thanks and regard

  • Ishtiyaque, putting 12 volts on any pin of the UCD3138 is likely to destroy it eventually, if not right away.  Even more likely, it will cause it not to function.  If you look at the data sheet, any voltage over 3.8 volts is not a recommended state even for storage.
