TPS1H000EVM: Spike on OUT1 while applying power supply

Part Number: TPS1H000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS1H000-Q1

Hello,

There's a ~110us spike on OUT1 (CH3, no load. probe only) while I turn on supply power on EVM.

On EVM, only J9/J1/J5/J11/J8 are short, the rest jumpers are left open.

Is there any way to eliminate this spike on the circuit?

        Thank you!

  • CYYang,

Does the voltage eventually taper off to the supply voltage? Also just to make sure I am reading your scope shot correctly, is yellow the supply voltage and purple the output voltage of the TPS1H000-Q1?

What sort of probe are you using here? Would you be able to take a picture of the EVM setup and post here for reference?

No, the voltage eventually taper off to GND. Yellow on the scope is supply voltage and purple is output voltage.

The probe is passive probe, Rigol PV2350. EVM setup shows below:

  • CYYang,

This isn't normal behavior and is not being seen on the EVM locally. From the picture it looks like your EVM is in pretty rough shape- would you be able to test it with another, undamaged EVM?
