TLV627432: adjust Vout rather than Vsel settings

Part Number: TLV627432

Hi Team,

currently customer use Vsel1,Vsel2,Vsel3 to achieve 1.8Vout using TLV627432. And they want to change Vout to 1.84V, is it possible to connect a resistor between Vout and Vos to adjust the Vout?

I see there is internal resistor divider programmed by Vselx so I think it should be OK but I'm not sure about the value of the resistor between Vout to Vos. Please kindly add your comments. Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

    Thank you for your question.

The device has DCS control, and the VOS pin is used for both the current and voltage loop in a complex way. It is not a simple voltage sense (for example similar to the FB pin).

Therefore, the output cannot simply be adjusted inserting a resistor. The addition of this resistor could also heavily compromise the control loop, thus this is NOT advised by TI.

    Thanks,

    Stefano

  • Hi Stefano,

Thanks for your reply. Then is there any method to adjust Vout? Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

Unfortunately for TLV627432 you cannot select a voltage level outside of the output voltage settings.

Since 1.84V is a not common value, I think that the best option could be to choose a device with FB pin instead of VOS pin and to use the standard feedback divider, but that would definitely increase the solution size and I don't think it would be p2p compatible with TLV627432 .

Btw, why does the costumer wants to modify the voltage from 1.8V to 1.84V?

Are they trying to compensate for a voltage drop at the output?

    Thanks,

    Stefano
