UCC3895: UCC3895

Part Number: UCC3895
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27200

This is an add question from a previous request concerning the UCC3895 drive specification. I trying to understand the DRIVE capabilities of the OUT-A,B,C,D. I am reviewing the data sheet SLUS157Q.

1) On page 2, I see 100 ma  Complementary Outputs for OUT-A,B,C,D.

2) On page 5, OUT-A,B,C,D, the data shows VCC + 0.3. I think it should this say VDD + 0.3?

3) On page 8, "OUTPUT", it states "Voh (All Outputs) = 250mV @ 10 ma".

These three items seem a contradictory. How can an OUTPUT HIGH be 250mV @ 10ma, that seems too low.

Item 1) and item 3) don't match. The 250mV @ 10ma could not drive a COIL.

Please help me understand the real driving specifications for these four outputs OUT-A,B,C,D.

I'm also referencing SLUU109B for my UCC3895 design. This doc shows on page 5, (Schematics), here the UCC3895 is directly driving the UCC27200.

Looking at the Data sheet for UCC27200 - page 5, this part requires an INPUT of  "V-HIT = 5.8V".

Please help me understand how the UCC3895 is driving the UCC27200, from these data sheets.

Thanks for your help in this matter.

  • Hi, Flack

    1) On page 2, I see 100 ma  Complementary Outputs for OUT-A,B,C,D.

This is peak current of OUTA/B/C/D

    2) On page 5, OUT-A,B,C,D, the data shows VCC + 0.3. I think it should this say VDD + 0.3?,

Yes, here is talking about voltage capability of OUTA/B/C/D pin.

    3) On page 8, "OUTPUT", it states "Voh (All Outputs) = 250mV @ 10 ma".

VOH=VDD-OUTA/B/C/D, then it means the pull high resistance is 25ohm, I've reply you in another thread.

So UCC3895 is capable to drive UCC27200.
