BQ51013B: Calculate RECT and OUT capacitance

Hi everyone,

I will include the BQ51013B wireless receiver in my design. According to the datasheet section 9.2.1.2.7 it is required a capacitance in both the RECT and OUT pins. The necessary capacitance is based on the output current and the datasheet provides some default values for Imax = 1A.

How could I calculate the required capacitance for my application where Imax is going to be around 50mA?Is there a formula I could use?

So it's safe to use the max proposed capacitance, that is 10uF for OUT and 22uF for RECT, despite the fact that the maximum output current is just 50mA?

Yes that is OK. Recommend also including 0.1uF filter caps on both these pins as seen in schematic here: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluua44a/sluua44a.pdf
