UCD9090A: UCD9090A/UCD9081 Questions

Part Number: UCD9090A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9081,

Hi team,

It's the first time for my customers to use UCD9090A/UCD9081, they have below questions, need your kind answers.

1. What are the 8 digital inputs of UCD9090A? Is this function same as Fast Digital Comparators?

2. Does UCD9081 have digital inputs? Can its ADDR1-4 pins be used as general digital input?

3. What's the turn-off time of UCD9090A/UCD9081? The turn-off time is determined by what?

4.  Can we use resistor divider solution (12V divided to 3.3V) to power UCD9090A/UCD9081?

5. How many fault history can UCD9090A/UCD9081 log?

6. Can UCD9090A/UCD9081 support cascade topology? We want to monitor more power rails.

  • Hello

UCD9081 is a much simpler device while UCD9090A offers much for enhanced features.

    Please see my comments below.

    1. No, there are the GPI(General Purpose input) which is used to receive 0(logical LOW) and 1(logical HIGH) signal.

    2. No, UCD9081 does not have GPI input.

    3. The turn off time is up to many things. dependencies, ramp down rate.  Do you have a requirement?

    4.  The post-divider voltage changes along with 12V. we do not recommend this approach.

    5. UCD9090A has 26 fault log entry while UCD9081 has only 6.

    6. both can support cascading but UCD9090A are much more flexible since it has GPIs . https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slva902  Other than UCD9090A and UCD9081, we also offer high density solution such as 12/16/32 channel solution. Will this help?

    Regards
