TPS74801: 1.5-A Low-Dropout Linear Regulator With Programmable Soft-Start

Part Number: TPS74801
The TPS74801DRC package picture is showing no pads at both sides of the thermal pad, but the drawing is showing the 2 pin pads out of the north and south side of the package. Please advise and let me know which is the correct one i.e. the picture or the package drawing???

    Yes the two pads I believe you are referring to (highlighted in red in the picture below) are present on the package. These are actually structural elements and are electrically connected to the thermal pad. These are re[resented in the drawing of the pin out on page 4 since they are part of the thermal pad and do not provide any separate functionality. 

    As a general rule the mechanical drawings at the end of our datasheets should be used when assessing the physical dimensions and structure of the package. Other drawings in the datasheet are usually representative images used to convey the ideas being discussed (such as pin function) in that part of the datasheet.
