LP5569: overvoltage at V1P8

Hi,

my customer found a mistake in his circuit and wonders why the application still works.

They connected 3.3V to V1P8. The maximum voltage at V1P8 is 2V. What peripherals are connected to V1P8 Pin inside of the IC?

Can you explain whether this can cause a defect in the chip?

Hi Bock,

V1P8 pin provide the input power for digital circuitry. Stresses in the list under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, which do not imply Inevitable damage of the device at this or any other conditions beyond those indicated under recommended operating conditions for a short time.

We do not suggest configurate the voltage beyond spec which will increase the risk of permanent damage.

I'm the customer Jan Bock is talking about. So i will implement a 1.8 V supply voltage.

Please can you help me with the current on V1P8?

In the data sheet typical value for the state that all LEDs are off is specified with 190 uA. But what is the maximum current required on this Pin?

Hi Florian,

The current on V1P8 when all LEDs are set to the maximum current can be test directly. So we did not provide the reference current.

please setting the LEDx_CURRENT and LEDx_PWM to the maximum value and test the current.
