LM60440-Q1: Input voltage protection in an automotive environment

Part Number: LM60440-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5060-Q1

We are considering using this part with the 12 volts input to the part coming from an automotive. The datasheet implies that this part is for an automotive environment since it says on the very first page that it is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications. However, none of the recommended circuits show more than a few capacitors to ground on the voltage input to the device. Will this device comply to ISO 7637-2 and ISO 16750-2, or does TI recommend using a circuit such as the one shown in "Automotive 12- and 24-V Battery Input Protection Reference Design" using the LM5060-Q1?
