TPS62827: power ripple problem

Part Number: TPS62827

Hi Team,

customer target ripple should less than 3% of output voltage(for output=0.8V ripple should smaller than 24mV)

But however, ripple is about 8%

We have tried

  1. bigger output cap(original is 1 x 22uF,we add to 2 x 22uf)
  2. install feedforward cap(280pf)
  3. change different inductance(1uH).

but ripple seems no big difference compare to original setting.

Do you have any suggestion for this situation?

Thanks.

  • Hello user,

What is your load condition here ?

Could you also capture the SW pin waveform ?

If your are in PFM condition, this can explain the bigger ripple condition you are facing.

If this condition needs to be true at all loads, you may want to consider using TPS62827A. Forced PWM version of TPS62827.

    Let me know.

    Thanks a lot!

    Regards,
    Dorian

  • Hello user,

I haven't heard back from you.

Were you able to capture the SW pin waveform ?

Did you have a look at the TPS62827A? If this option is of interest for you, you can start evaluation using the TPS62827AEVM-126.

    Let me know.

    Thanks a lot!
