TPS92633-Q1: Pull up needed on Fault for one fail all fail?

Hello Team,

In the TPS92633-Q1 datasheet I see that Fault has an internal pullup on the pin but the reference circuit on page 7-12 shows an external 20k resistor pulling up Fault:

If we tie multiple Faults together for one fail all fail performance, could you clarify if this 20k pullup is actually needed or not?

Hi the 20k pulled up resistor is used with the zener to connect the fault pin to mcu's gpio to limilt the fault voltage in normal condiiton.

Thanks for the quick feedback! To verify, if the system didn't have a MCU and you were only tying the faults together in order to enable one fail all fail condition, you would not need either the Zener or the 20k. Is that correct?

if there is no mcu in system, the fault pin is pulled up to supply by internal circuit, and you only need to connect all fault pin together to achieve O-F-A-F.
