BQ27520EVM: Chemistry ID selection

Part Number: BQ27520EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

I would need a help with chemistry id selection for my battery.

I use this battery https://www.gebattery.com.cn/product/showproduct.php?id=151 with 4.35V.

I did a relax-discharge-relax scenario and collected data with bqStudio. I sent them to gauging parameters calculator tool but the answer was that my battery doesn't fit well to any model. Best one was with 9% deviation.

I discharged my battery with a bulb connected which of course didn't consume constant current. You can see the graph of voltage and current here:

Do you think that discharging with not constant current can be the issue?

Here is the zip file I sent to calculator page:

1777.Battery.zip

Any help or advice how to properly set the chemistry id would be highly appreciated. Thanks

  • Hello,

The error on your chem ID is fairly high, we like it to be less than 5% otherwise it can lead to errors with the learning cycle.

I would recommend re-running with the constant current load if possible to get the chem ID.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
