TPS61169: LED driver with Current Limit value of 3-4A

Dear TI Team

Our customers were considering TPS61169, but they said they needed a Current Limit value of 3-4A.
(Current Limit value is calculated from the LED supply current specifications)

I searched for a product with specifications similar to TPS61169 and a Current Limit value of 3-4A or higher, but I could not find it in the current TI lineup.
Will new products based on the above specifications be released in the future?

    Hi Ottey,

    As you mentioned current limit value of 3-4A, do you mean that customer need to drive 3-4A flow LEDs, or the switch current?

    We have a device named TPS61500, which have 3A switch current limit. You could take a look to see if it can meet customer's requirement.

    In our roadmap, we do not have a plan to develop higher current capability device. For high current application, integrated switch FET have much challenges on process and thermal performance. We recommend to use external FET with BUCK controller solution, like TPS92641.
