BQ24616: Thermal shutdown

IC gets thermal shutdown for VCC of 18V  current of 35mA,but actual Tja is 53 degrees per watt,according to that raise is 34 degrees.Is there any other reason for thermal shut down.

    Hello,

    Please look at the "Semiconductor and IC Package Thermal Metrics" Application Report. The most important metric affecting thermal resistance is PCB design, which includes thermal relief, proper track sizing, etc.

    Is the part operating as expected at that current?
