TPS65001: Alternative with more Output Current

Part Number: TPS65001
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM26480, TPS650330-Q1

Hi,

my customer is looking for an alternative for TPS65001 what has the same count of Bucks and LDOs. The output current should be higher than 0.6A. I already found the  https://www.ti.com/product/TPS650061. But it has fixed LDO outputs. So can you please provide a suitable alternative.

Thanks

Jan

  • Hi Jan,

Can you please share the application and power (voltage and current) requirements?

Unfortunately the TPS6500xx family are currently TI's only devices providing a 1 DCDC + 2 LDO integrated power management solution. If you share some more information about the application, there may still be another suitable option.

    Thanks,

    Gerard

  • Hello,

my name is Marvin Post and I am the customer with this request. The target application is an industrial camera. I need 1.2V, 1.8V and 2.8V. The 1.2V should supply round about 1A, the 1.8V and the 2.8V both less than 100mA. So a PMIC with a DCDC Converter and two LDOs would be e perfect solution, because of the space savings.

    Thanks

    Marvin Post

  • Hi Marvin,

Thank you for providing these details - could you also please share the expected input voltage to this industrial camera?

    Thanks,

    Gerard

  • Hello Gerard,

the input voltage range is 4.5 to 5V (USB Voltage).
    Thanks
    Marvin

  • Hi Marvin,

There are some 4-channel PMIC alternatives that have been used in camera applications and can deliver 1.2 V @ 1 A. Would either be an option for you?

    • LM26480 - externally adjustable 2 DCDC + 2 LDO - one DCDC can be disabled via a dedicated enable pin.
    • TPS650330-Q1 - 3 DCDC + 1 LDO. This device is in preview status and may not be an option depending on your project schedule.

    Thanks,

    Gerard
