Customer want to confirm TPS1663 can use back to back similar with tps2595 for bidirectional current limit。
The voltage battery 12 cell is 50.4VDC, battery 1 can charge battery 2 and opposite

The other options are external FET based hot-swap controller solution. You can connect high voltage controller LM5069 like Figure 24 in https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm9061-q1.pdf to achieve bidirectional overcurrent protection.

As I read LM5069 datasheet, this part use resistor for curent limit. Are you sure LM5069 can use similar with figure 24 in https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm9061-q1.pdf to achieve bidirectional current limit?

LM5069-2 is out of stock. Can I you LM5069-1 with auto retry control from MCU external?. In this case, how can I know when LM5069-1 is on OVC latch off?. OVC we mean overvoltageclamp protection or over voltage protection or overvoltage fault. Do you need overvoltage protection in your system ?
or you just need overcurrent protection in both directions ?
As I mentioned earlier, both LM5069-1 and LM5069-2 does not latch off for overvoltage fault.
