My customer is seeing a transient when the hot insert the regulator. When a hot 5V source is connected the output immediately jumps to 4.3 v for 1msec. This is an accessory that can be attached to the unit via a rj11 connector. Can you verify that a hot plug will not cause and output over shoot?
One other note, the part has the shutdown directly tied to ground. Also adding more output cap does reduce the transient, but it is still going too high. Initial output cap is 4.7, adding 10 reduces voltage to 3.9v
