LMS8117A: LMS8117A Temperature Range

Hi team,

LMS8117A Temperature Range is 0°C to 125°C in datasheet,but in Figure 6. Temperature stability (attachment)it has 0.4% of ourput voltage changes in -50 degree.how to explain this ?

 Is it possible to revise datasheet if LMS8117A is working in -50 degreee?

    Hi Zhonghui, 

    Sometimes we may have an extended temperature range in characterization curves. There is a lot of additional qualification we have to do to generate the recommended temperature range. The device may work outside of 0-125, but using it outside of the recommended temperature range may reduce the reliability and may reduce the life expectancy of the device. 

    At this step, there is no plan for us to qualify the device to -50C as the device was originally designed and tested for only 0-125C.
