TPS1HB08-Q1: Current sense ratio in other cases than Iout=1A

Part Number: TPS1HB08-Q1

Hi team,

The current sense ratio is specified at 1A in the datasheet. How about other Iout cases?

Does the current sense ratio depends on the output current?

If so, could you give me a reference data for Iout VS current sense ratio?

Regards,

Saito

  • Hello Saito-san,

We specify the current sense accuracy right below at several different levels. You use these percentage variations to calculate the accuracy variation at a certain load current.

You would always want to use the worst case value. For example we specify the accuracy at 300mA and 100mA. If your load current is 200mA, for example, you would want to use the lower accuracy 100mA as the worst case value. It is worth noting that if the accuracies do not match your loading characteristics you are probably using the wrong part. The higher RON parts will have better accuracies at lower load currents. For example see the following comparison table:

See the attached presentation for a more detailed demonstration on how to optimize your current sense accuracy.
