TPS61096A: Vosns turning on and FB sample characteristics of TPS61096A

Hi，

       My question is:

1) When does Vosns turn on if the output voltage is generating?  Does FB（pin7 of TPS61096A） samples all the time during the opening and holding time of Vosns?

2) Is the opening and holding time of Vosns fixed or variable（ I actually test that the opening and holding time of Vosns is about 10us）？What is the relationship between the opening and holding time of Vosns and output load（ for example，if  the output load is heavy，the opening and holding time of Vosns will increase or decrease？If  the output load is light，the opening and holding time of Vosns will increase or decrease？）

    Hi Longfei,

    1. the FB input is analog circuit, so the FB will be sensed all the time during the Vosns holding.

    2. the opening and holding time of Vosn will changes with the loading. the opening time is shorter in heavy load and longer in light load. 

    what is problem in your application?

            thanks for your reply!

           In my application, the total power dissipation of TPS61096A is concerned very much.    I want to roughly calculate the power dissipation of resistances between Vosns and GND, so that I can evaluate the percentage of resistance power dissipation in the total power dissipation of the TPS61096A power supply system.

           So could you give me an rough maximum and minimum of the opening and holding time of Vosn，when the load current is between 1mA and 10uA?

    Hi Longfei,

    unfortunately, there is no a good way to calculate the on/off time. and actually the feedback resistor doesn't impact much to the efficiency. I would suggest to apply an EVM to evaluate the efficiency at such condition. thanks!
