I design as below with LM51501-Q1.

-Input: 4.5~12V

-output: 11.5V 8A

1. Is it possible to bypass the input voltage above 11.5v without boost?

2.Is it possible up to 8A?

Hi David,

1) In boost topology, you have a high-side path from input to output. So if input voltage is higher than output regulation target, you can bypass.

2) High side path consists of inductor and diode, so you would make sure components can handle the current ratings.
