TPS62132: Can TPS62132 replace TPS62142

Part Number: TPS62132
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62142,

Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding the customer's inquiry below.

Our new design is using TPS62142 but unfortunately we are having problems getting hold of this part at the moment.

I am wondering if I could use TPS62132 as a direct replacement part so that I do not have to change my PCB layout.

We are ramping up for volume production now, and we need 1000 peaces ASAP ( June 2021 ).

My PCB has been laid out according to the "Layout Example" for TPS62142, (minus R1 and R2 etc.).

My PCB does not have a footprint for C7 as "required" for the TPS62132 "Layout Example", i.e. the dedicated decoupling cap for analog ground is missing in my design.

My design will at most draw 1.2 A @ 3.3V from the regulator, i.e. regulated from 12V to 3.3V.

What do you think, would you be able to say anything about the feasibility of this idea?

Since C7 is not part of the "Layout Example" for TPS62142 is it possible that I do not need C7 as long as I do not exceed the ratings supported by TPS62142 on the TPS62132?

I understand how important the bypass capacitors are in a circuit as explained in the E2E threads below, however, the applications circuits in the datasheet of TPS62142 do not include this capacitor but it's included in the TPS62132.
