TPS65132: SCL/SDA-pin handling when not using I2C

Part Number: TPS65132

Hi team,

I received a question about SCL/SDA-pin handling when not using I2C for TPS65132W. This question is related to the following E2E I posted before.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/power-management-forum/966486/tps65132-i2c-communication?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch

Could you please help with the questions below?

1. If the I2C communication is not required, you recommended "SCL/SDA should have a pull up resistor to Vin instead of being left floating." in the above thread. Is the purpose of pulling up SCL/SDA to VIN to fix the open drain?

2. If the customer wants to pull up the SCL/SDA because they don't use I2C, can they pull up to another power supply rail (=1.8V) instead of VIN (=3.3V)?

3. Can you also tell me why the recommended value for the pull up resistor is 10kΩ?

Regards,

Yamaguchi
