TPS6521835: Hardware not connected showing in IPGUI software

Part Number: TPS6521835
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EXP430F5529LP, TPS6521815, TPS65218, USB2ANY

I was trying to program the EEPROM of TPS6521835 using BOOSTXL-TPS6521835 +MSP-EXP430F5529LP. After connecting the hardware to the computer, i opened the UI and created project. When i tried to read the registers i am getting below shown error.

This MSP-EXP430F5529LP has used for development of  other TI ICs also. Do i need to flash any firmware before programing as said in the section 2.5 of  BOOSTXL user guide.

Also as said in section 2.4 second point i am not able to locate the .json /.js files

Can you help me to solve this.

  • Hi Deljo,

The TPS6521835 is a pre-programmed device designed to meet the power and sequencing needs of the NXP i.MX 6ULL/6UltraLite nthat does not support user-programmability. If you are looking for a DIY PMIC, user-programmable device in the TPS65218 family, the TPS6521815 is the correct device you would need to use.

    Best,
    Emily

  • Hi Emily,

You saying that we cannot change the internal program of TPS6521835 right?

I tried with TPS65218DO and this need to work since i am able to do this at early times. My doubt is on the firmware of  MSP-EXP430F5529LP. Since for other development purposes we have changed the firmware inside of it. Can you let me know  How to flash the correct firmware  to MSP-EXP430F5529LP.

  • Hi Deljo,

Just to clarify are you looking to change the registers through I2C or are you looking to change the non-volatile OTP programming? What Emily was saying is that the non-volatile OTP programming cannot be changed and you will need to use the TPS6521815 device instead. To fix the "Hardware Not Connected" issue you may need to update the USB2ANY device. This can be done using the software on the USB2ANY product page found here.
