I would like to use LM5143-Q1 in an application that:

1) VIN = 48VDC

2) Adjustable VOUT = 0.6V .. 47V @1.25A

My questions are:

1) Is LM5143-Q1 suitable for my application?

2) I would like to adjust the output voltage via microprocessor. Any suggestion?

Hi Andre,

No need for a 2-channel/phase controller for just 1.25A output current. Better to use a converter with integrated FETs, something like the LMR36015-Q1. If you prefer a controller, then the LM5145 / LM5146-Q1 is a good option (it's toff-min spec is 140ns, which sets the max duty cycle depending on the Fsw).

You can adjust VOUT by having a variable duty cycle PWM signal from the uP and pass it through an RC filter to create a DC voltage that resistively couples into FB.

The converter with integrated FETs would be the easiest solution, especially given the low output current spec. The LMR36015 60V/1.5A is likely the best option, and we also have the LM5160 65V/2A. The only caveat is that they do not go down to 0.6V out (only the LM5143-Q1 does that).

I agree, LMR36015 is the best option. I will use it with LM10011 to control the output voltage.

Definitely a nice part given the 2 x 3mm package, but keep in mind that Vout-min is 1V.
