BQ34Z100-G1: full configuration procedure for BQ34Z100-G1 and AA NiMH battery

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

hi all, on the first attempt I got wrong capacity of battery... now I'm running out of the time, could you please check whole procedure I was using?

Following datasheet 8.2.2.1

  1. design capacity = 2300 mAh,
  2. design energy = 2300*1.2V = 2700 mWh
  3. cell charge voltage: T1-T2: 1500 mV, T2-T3 = 1450 mV, T4-T3 = 1400 mV (I'm guessing here)
  4. default LED and Alert configuration (no LEDs, no alerts)
  5. number of series cells = 1
  6. pack configuration: default
  7. no external voltage divider
  8. 100 mOhm sense resistor value, it doesn't fit CC Gain and CC Delta due to 40 mOhm limit, I leave those as default (10.1 mOhm)
  9. Load Select: default
  10. Load Mode: default
  11. Cell Terminate Voltage = 1000 mV
  12. Quit Current: default 40 mA
  13. Qmax Cell 0 = 2300 mAh
  14. I program chemical ID Sanyo BK-250A since it' a closes NiMH battery similar to AA
  15. Calibrate temperature: internal temp sensor, I type room temperature
  16. Calibrate current using external ampmeter
  17. Calibrate CC offset: zero current condition
  18. Calibrate Board Offset: zero current condition
  19. I run optimization cycle as in SLUA334B:
    1. I discharge battery in circuit with C/20 to 1000 mV
    2. I wait 2h
    3. I click "Enable IT" from command list
    4. I charge the battery to full
    5. I wait ~2h
    6. I discharge batteries to 1000 mV using C/20
    7. I wait 5 h
    8. I repeat charging and discharging

I did fail here with capacity (I got 1300 mAh, cell was tested with professional charger / discharger and it has 2250 mAh)

I'm running the procedure again on blank device, could you tell me if I'm missing something?
