LM385-ADJ: Conflict of LM385-ADJ spice model and LM385-ADJ datasheet

Part Number: LM385-ADJ

Dear TI Staff

I downloaded LM385-ADJ spice model from your website, I simulate on LTspice and follow the circuit as I attached. I found that it is not working. But when I swap R2 and R3 the result is correct.

Which one I should trust between datasheet or this spice model? If the spice model is wrong could you provide the correct one?

    The datasheet should be correct. I have ordered some devices of this flavor because I do not have them currently. I can try this

    Is there a reason you want to use a  LM385 vs a LM4041-ADJ or ATL431LI? I can confirm that both of those devices datasheet and models match.

    The device matched the datasheet. I need to look at why the spice model did not function the same way.

    Hi Sun,

    I agree that the model is not working properly. I can look into correcting the model or removing the non functional model. A fixed revision will take a while so I would not count on it in the next coming month.

    If you don't need the low Iq of the LM385, you can use a LM4041-N ADJ or TL431LI and those have both working models and a variety of package options.
