LM22675 Simple swticher and microcontroller

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM22675, LM2937

Dear Sir,

I' m designing an electronic board for a device that will be mounted on trucks.

My idea is to use this components with the related components:

               +24V                                       5V circuitry               3.3V   Microcontroller  (max 500 mA)

TRUCK MAIN POWER RAIL    -----> LM22675   ------->  LM2937ES-3.3

Some of you have experience using this components to power a microcontroller?

Have you some hints that can help my design?

Thanks in advance

G.

  • You can try Webench to get a first pass on the components.

    http://www.ti.com/product/lm22675

    Plug your requirements onto the product page of the LM22675 and it will develop a design for you.  Click on the BOM button to get a first pass bill of materials for your design.

    There are also links on the product page to application notes on layout and other tools

    For the LM2937 just make sure to provide enough ground metal connected to the thermal pad to keep the part cool.  Read AN-2020 Thermal design by Insight not Hindsight for tips.

    Let me know if you need any other help.

    Regards,

    Marc
