Hi,

Our customer would like to use TPS54226 on the following condition.

Can they separate VCC from VIN?

I think that it is usable for the recommended voltage range*.

Could you please give us your advice.

*Recommended voltage range (datasheet page3)

VCC = 4.5V to 18V

VIN = 2.0V to 18V

[Condition]

・VCC = 5.0V

・VIN = 2.7V to 8.4V

・Vout = 1.1V

・Iout = 1.5A

That should be doable. If I have an EVM I can check it for basic operation.

I checked this in the lab. Works fine. Just be careful with power up sequencing. Bring VIN up first, then VCC. If you hold EN low until both VCC and VIN are in regulation, then bring EN high to enable the device, it does not matter which supply comes up first.
