LM25575 as a buck boost regulator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25575, TPS54061

Hi,

I have a voltage requirement of -18V at 200mA with +12V as the input. When checked with the WEBENCH tool, LM25575 appeared to be a solution.

Can -18V be obtained from +12V using a buck regulator.

Can the more affordable TPS54061 be used instead.

Thanking you,

Dixit

  • Hi Dixit,

You can obtain -18V from +12V with the LM25575.  Make sure to use the correct feedback resistor values.

As of now, TPS54061 does not have the inverting buck boost topology available in WEBENCH, so if you were to use this device you would have to do the BOM calculations using another method.
