Q: Why setting 250uA Limit for AC high line ?

If over 250uA can influence which function ?

Which tolerance for this 250uA test plan in TI mass product testing ?

Reference [DN-44 UC3854A and UC3854B   slua177a  (250W)] : R8 1M Ohm, and this setting already over 250uA , How to meet IAC maximum 10mA ?

Q: IA is IAC pin input current ? or other ?

Q: Power limited is Multiplier output current limited or power limited ?

IA limited and power limited minimum value different reason ?2015_UC3854AN.docx

Q: Va is mean pin 7 VAO voltage right ?

  • Hi James,

Refer to SLUA263 (search for it on TI's web site) to answer one of your questions.

I use 500uA for IAC in my design at maximum Vin of 270V AC.

Use the latest datasheet on the UC2854A/B to design your component values.

    Regards, Stephan.

  • I past question again,

    1. As page 5 and page 1, what is the meaning of IA? It says the IAC, right?

    2. What’s the meaning of power limited? In EC table, it says the -200uA. It looks it says the current limited of the Multiplier, not power limited of the Multiplier, right? Or is there any other meaning of power limited?

    3. Is the “Va” meaning to the “VAO”?2015_UC3854AN20150305.docx
