LM5122 - About LM5122EVM-1PH Evaluation Module

Hi Team,

 

Our customer would like to know the Nch-MOSFET(Q2, Q3) in EVM.

According to User’s Guide, the substitution device of “PSMN4R0-40YS” is " CSD18501Q5A ".

 

However, the package of " CSD18501Q5A " is different from " PSMN4R0-40YS ".

(So, the foot patterns are different.)

Therefore, I’m understanding that we can't change N-ch MOSFET(Q2,Q3) from " PSMN4R0-40YS " to " CSD18501Q5A ".

Is my understanding correct?

    It is non-standard approach. CSD18501 included as a alternative device, but the foot print has not been optimized.
    Fortunately, both PSMN4R0 and CSD18501 could populated on the same footprint. For an evaluation purpose, that was enough.
    For mass production, I don't recommend sharing one foot print for two devices.

    Our customer would like to evaluate this device using this EVM.

    They will evaluate this device at the following conditions.

     

    [conditions]

    ・Vin=16V to 24V

    ・Vout=60V

    ・Iout=0.5A

     

    Therefore, they would like to use CSD19531Q5A or CSD19533Q5A or CSD19534Q5A (100V Nch-MOSFET) for this EVM.

    (Incidentally, " CSD18501Q5A(40V Nch-MOSFET)" and “CSD19531Q5A or CSD19533Q5A or CSD19534Q5A " are the same packages.)

     

    Could you please let us know if you have any information of foot print and advice?

    So, we would like to know the method to change N-ch MOSFET(Q2,Q3) from " PSMN4R0-40YS " to " CSD19531Q5A or CSD19533Q5A or CSD19534Q5A ".

     

    Unfortunately, we can’t find the detail foot print of this EVM.

    The recommended PCB pattern for the CSD19531Q5A , CSD19533Q5A and CSD19534Q5A are on their datasheets.
    These three FETs can be populated on LM5122EVM without any PCB modification.
