In the PMP4123, TI reference design of ISO721MD, R16 and C17 are inserted between DRV and IN of U5.
I do not understand fully how R16 and C17 work and why we need R16 and C17, and C17 can be increased to prevent signal distortion?
Right now I may have to use 220pF instead of 47pF to get clean output signal of U5. Thank you in advance for your information.

  • The "DRV" signal from the UCC2897A is a 12V signal.  D8 clamps the signal to 5V to protect the ISO721MD.  R16 limits the current from "DRV", but it also introduces a delay.  C17 minimizes this delay.  It is ok to use 220pF for C17.
